Celebrating Administrative Office Professionals 2025

From April 21-25, Minnetonka Schools is celebrating Administrative Office Professionals Appreciation Week.

Jennifer Harrington is the building office assistant at Clear Springs Elementary. She has worked with the District for 15 years in a variety of roles, including as support for the Tonka District Children’s Choir, as a paraprofessional in a fourth grade classroom, and as a Special Education Office Assistant. “Minnetonka has given me the chance to jump in wherever I’m needed,” said Jennifer.

Reflecting on the work of administrative office professionals, Jennifer shared, “I think most people who work in our buildings know the magic that happens in the front office—even if they can’t always see it. There’s a whole world of activity going on behind the scenes, and while it might look calm on the surface, we’re typically juggling three balls, spinning six plates, and answering a phone or two in between!” She loves the ebb and the flow that keeps things interesting. “I genuinely enjoy the new (and often fun) challenges each day brings,” said Jennifer. “It’s never boring—and I wouldn’t have it any other way!”

Jennifer’s favorite parts of her work are the moments of connection with students, staff and families. “There’s nothing quite like seeing a former student out in public, having them light up when they recognize me, and asking if I remember them—spoiler alert: 9 times out of 10, I absolutely do!” said Jennifer. “Elementary schools are full of magic, and sometimes it’s the smallest gestures—a simple hello or a high five—that can make the biggest impact on a student’s day … Those moments of joy, connection, and pure fun remind me every day why I love what I do.”

We invite our community to join us in thanking our administrative office professionals for the many ways, big and small, that they contribute to creating welcoming, encouraging and supportive environments in our schools!
